It’s Fun! It’s VierBike! A New Brand Pedals to Life!

The branding process for this quadracycle—a bicycle with four wheels—began in our parking lot—no kidding!

First we needed to create a brand name. Our team kicked off their creative naming session by taking this unique bike for a spin. They snapped a few photos while they were at it for fun and inspiration.

The VierBike Brand Story

Trooping inside, they gathered around the table in our Creative Room, enthusiastically discussing the bike’s features, reviewing the competition, and exploring the target market.

Creative juices began to flow and name ideas sprang up like popcorn from one side of the room to the other. Team members captured them in writing on our marker-board walls. As brainstorming continued, they compiled a long list of possibilities. In the next step, the names were analyzed and reduced to the seven with the highest potential.

Later, after further discussion between our team and the client, the name VierBike was chosen. Some of the strengths of this name are that it is short, easy to say, unique, memorable and has underlying meaning. Vier is the German word for “four”. This bike is all about four wheels and its innovative design and manufacturing are overseen by the owner, who is of German heritage.

Next, Lyndon set to work branding the company in collaboration with Matt and the client. First he conducted brand and market research, and then created pencil sketches of various concepts.

VierBike logo options

Since the target market for the VierBike is the baby boomer generation, we used various 60s and 70s style ideas in this brand. Lyndon developed a retro inspired color theme and a vintage style typeface for the logo to appeal to that market.

We settled on the direction of a hand-lettered word mark. The mark was then digitized and fine-tuned. With its logo complete, VierBike is no longer merely a name, now it has a face!

VierBike business cards

Next, we designed graphic elements, typefaces, and color schemes into a unique VierBike brand style. When the brand direction was finalized, we scheduled a lifestyle photoshoot. In the park and on the town, we put the bike through its paces, capturing quality photos as well as the attention of many passersby!
